Why Do You Need Cardio?
Your heart needs to be strengthened just like the other muscles of the body. So, how do you workout your heart? Cardiorespiratory exercise raises your heart rate for an extended amount of time. This pumps oxygen throughout the body, which helps your muscles work their strongest.
You might think that aerobic exercise involves high-intensity sprints or long boring jogs. But you can get your cardio in by swimming, hiking, dancing, or any activity that elevates your heart rate. Don’t get me wrong, if you enjoy running, get out there. I actually really love to run, so that is how I get in my cardio. Exercise doesn’t have to be a drag. Try to do things that you like.
You may dread your 30-minute cardio session, but the benefits of aerobic exercise should out weight your procrastination. Cardio does way more than aid in weight loss. Active people receive more oxygenated blood to the brain, which helps improve memory and concentration. Since your brain has to process what is happening quicker, this will help you become sharper and faster at making decisions throughout the day.
Cardiorespiratory exercise causes a release of endorphins to the brain. These powerful chemicals can improve your mood and even fight depression. Have a hard time falling asleep? Cardio significantly improves your overall sleep and reduces the time it takes to fall asleep.
The improvement of sleep, mood, and stress also helps boost your immune system. Working your heart also reduces risks of heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and so many other diseases.
Well, now you get the picture. Aerobic exercise is crucial in order to live a happy and healthy life. I hope this post brought you some inspiration to get that heart pumping.
