My Current Favorite Drugstore Makeup
Hey, guys! My name is Heather and I wanted to go ahead and share my top drugstore makeup of the month. I have never tried these products before this month, but I would repurchase and recommend them to you. It’s easy to get a stunning makeup look without high-end products. I spent about $30 on all of this makeup combined. Feel free to try these yourself and let me know what you think in the comments below.

Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat
I had my nails painted red for Halloween to match my Captain America costume. I rarely have colors on my nails, so the red looked very shiny and bold. My roommate picked this matte top coat out and I decided I would give it a try. I painted the matte top coat and it really reduced the shine of the polish. It did take a while for the polish to dry and streaks are easily visible. The glossiness of the polish shown through within a few days. However, I love how this top coat adds an interesting texture to my nails for a reasonable price.
Revlon Color Stay Foundation
After hearing so much hype about this foundation, I’m glad I listened. It comes in a variety of shades and formulas specifically designed for your skin type. A lot of foundations oxidize, or change colors after you put it on your face. I didn’t notice any discoloration and the shade matched my fair skin tone perfectly. Revlon claims that the color will last for 24 hours. Although this is an exaggeration, this foundation lasts longer than any other drugstore makeup on the shelves. The liquid sets dewy on the skin especially when you apply it with a beauty blender. My new favorite foundation is full coverage and easy to layer, however, it comes out streaky if you use a brush.
Elf Baked Eyeshadow Trio
I haven’t had a lot of good luck with cheap eyeshadows, but the pigments in this trio are impressive. The colors are pigmented and easy to blend. I like to wet the tip of my brush and gently blend, starting with the transition shade. Applying these shadows wet will also intensify the colors and give you a metallic finish. I love creating a neutral smokey eye with these eyeshadows.
Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara
I was hesitant to purchase a mascara in a big tube. In the past, I’ve experienced huge brushes that only made a mess. Fortunately, the brush is a perfect size and one of my favorite things about this product. One side of the brush has tiny bristles, which help to volumize your eyelashes. The other side has larger bristles, which help to lengthen and define your lashes. I noticed right away that it gave my lashes a nice curl with only 2 coats. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited about mascara.
Elf Tone Adjusting Face Primer
My skin doesn’t get oily. The problem is discoloration on my face and scarring on my forehead. Sometimes, foundation and concealer aren’t enough. I searched through the elf cosmetics section and bought this Tone Adjusting Face Primer by e.l.f.. I was hesitant about using a primer because I heard they can cause your makeup to slide off your face. After all the warnings, I tried it and loved it. The formula is smooth and makes my skin feel like velvet. I noticed that not only did my makeup look airbrushed and last all day, but my blemishes and redness appeared to be gone without a trace.
