How To Remove Blackheads With A Blemish Extractor
If you are anything like me, then you can’t let a pimple or blackhead live out its days on your face. It’s so tempting to squeeze the shit out of them with your fingers. But that is a no no. I did this all throughout my high school career, until one day I discovered the comedo extractor.
A comedo extractor or blemish extractor is a thin metal tool used by professionals to remove blackheads. And all blackheads are dirt, oil and debris trapped inside the pores.
I only use this tool about once or twice a week before I go to sleep. The tool will leave you with red pressure marks on your face. So, plan for a night of skin recovery. You should be very careful and make sure you are using your blemish extractor correctly. I wanted to share with you a step by step guide to remove those pesky blackheads! I also have to admit there is something so satisfying about watching the gunk come out of my skin.
Step 1: Cleanse and steam your face or place a warm wet towel on the area you are extracting. The heat and moisture will help loosen up the bacteria.
Step 2: Wash your extractor tool before and after every use. I also like to rub alcohol on the tool as well as my skin before I start.
Step 3: Press down gently on your skin with the tool. Be careful not to press too hard, and wiggle from side to side until the debris comes out.
Step 4: After you are finished extracting the heck out of your face, apply a natural essential oil or toner to the area. Toners and astringents will help cleanse off extra residue and restore your skin’s ph balance.
